The Susquehanna River geographically separates the Capital Area of Harrisburg into what is commonly known as the East and West Shores. Some of the East Shore communities include Harrisburg , Hershey, Lower Paxton, and Susquehanna Townships. Some West Shore communities include; Camp Hill, Mechanicsburg, Hampden Township, Carlisle, Dillsburg, New Cumberland, Enola, and Upper and Lower Allen Townships.
